Meditation/Relaxation Class

Research shows that we “mind talk” thousands of times a day, and most of it is negative.   An average person has 60,000 thoughts per day.     That’s a lot of stress, and the impact on our mind and body is quite toxic

We are all busy and we tend to fill the gaps that occur in our lives with yet more stuff to do. Sometimes we find ourselves overworked, and overwhelmed. Over time, we have lost our ability to bring our mind back to a state of calm and our health suffers

Meditation is about letting go, giving up control as we know it, in order to find a sense of peace.  From this place we can find a different sense of control that will enable us to balance and harmonize all aspects of our daily lives – work, family, self, friends and community.

What are the Benefits?   

 

Meditation grounds our awareness and provides us with the opportunity to refresh and re- energize our mind. Meditation brings us to a state of inner calm, where we can find quietness, stillness, freedom and a sense of being at peace with the world. And it is from this place that we are at our best, both at work and in our personal relationships

 

It not only affects you but affects all those around you and increases your energy. When at peace you radiate a different type of energy and can deflect the negative energy of those around you and you feel more able to deal with everyday problems

 

Dr Daniel Amen, a brain specialist in the US, says that meditation focuses the brain and activates the most thoughtful part of the brain so you are more intelligent, more happy and make better decisions (previously thought to slow it down).
